A holder of an MBA from the George Washington University and a B.Sc. in Economics from the American University in D.C. (USA), he specialized in strategic negotiation in Harvard and pursued Doctoral Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

He has taught a series of courses and seminars in Eastern Europe within the Leonardo da Vinci Program, which is intended to facilitate the accession of PHARE countries to the European Union.

Internationally, he has collaborated with organizations such as the UN, the World Bank and the European Commission in a variety of Reconstruction and Development Programs, implementing the water treatment program in Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia following the signature of the Dayton agreements in 1995.

He has been the CEO of Azierta since its incorporation in 2001, combining his role in corporative governance with the duties of Chief Executive Officer in the business of Wind Farming, Water Treatment and Property Development.

Gonzalo holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering (BSc & MSc, Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain) and Business Management (5‐ year degree from UNED, Spain & New York). He has also completed courses on International Business Management at the Georgetown University Business School in Washington DC. He is a US citizen who has lived in the Washington DC area since 2004.

Senior executive and entrepreneur with a wide range of experience in establishing and growing highly technical businesses. Strong business development background in the government and international sectors, for 9 years he led the establishment of the new US subsidiary of a foreign engineering company (GMV), growing the customer base from 0 to 30+ different organizations. He has supported multiple international companies starting and developing their US subsidiaries through organic growth as well as via acquisitions.

Wide experience in Operations and Program Management, he led a diverse portfolio of programs, growing the backlog from 0 to over $30M. Personally led implementation of complex systems for NASA and international customers. PMP certified.

In 1997 he graduated as a Civil Engineer from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, corresponding to Level 3 (Master) of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES) and level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). He has supplementary training in the fields of Management of Engineering Projects, Geotechnics and Tunnels, Structures, Legislation on public works and Marketing.

With over 20 years of experience in the sector, in Spain, USA and other countries, he entered AZIERTA in 2009 and has been the Technical Director of the Transport Infrastructure Division since 2017.

As part of his duties, he has a say in all technical, economic and administrative decisions of the works hired or commissioned: planning of the work phases and the hiring of human or material resources, centralization of relations with clients, collaborators and partners, as well as the different government agencies involved. He is also responsible for closing and settling every contract.

His extensive experience in Transport Infrastructure Engineering, where he has held different positions from the most basic to those of top responsibility, drives his effort when it comes to achieving the corporate goals set as well as delivering the contracts to the full satisfaction of clients, always striving for greater quality in the development of work.

Ritesh is a structural Civil Engineer graduated in the University of Beaumont (Texas). He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Commonwealth of Virginia and Texas.

He has great experience in design for concrete and steel structures, and masters the technique for fatigue analysis on complex steel structures.

He has coordinated the structural design development and has assisted in providing structural direction to several rail line infrastructure and facilities:

• Silver Line Phase II, working as a lead engineer on wayside facilities, detailed engineering for extension of Silver Line Metro 11.6-mile rail from Wiehle-Reston East Station into Loudoun County (VA)
• Maryland Purple Line where he has participated as Senior Structural Engineer analyzing structures for Bethesda Silver Spring Transit Center (SSTC) and Manchester Place Station Proposal for 16-mile light rail line that will extend from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George’s County.

He is an expert in all aspects around the design work, as conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, cost control and preparation of contract documents for construction and administrative processes related and associated to construction.

He masters the development of standard details and coordination in the design phase with devotion for completeness and accuracy and supervises quality control within the structural discipline.

Antonio holds a Degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Granada (Spain) and a Master in Coastal Engineering from the Plymouth University (UK).

He has developed most of his professional career in the UK within the structural and civil engineering fields. He has worked in private engineering consultancies and public bodies such as Somerset County Council, as a Design Engineer within the Bridges Department, thus giving him a unique holistic view of the engineering business.

Before joining Azierta he worked for the main Contractor in the US Naval Base of Rota (Spain) in charge of estimating and budgeting all sort of maintenance works.

He joined Azierta in 2020 in the Projects Department as Design Manager.

Luis Moreno is a PhD Civil Engineer from Madrid Technical University (UPM), an MSc Civil Engineer (UPM), and a MEng Master of Engineering in Ocean Engineering from Texas A & M University. Responsible, as Practice Leader, for leading development of Intecsa-Inarsa’s capabilities across the Port, Coastal and Marine Sector. Director responsible for all aspects of coastal business strategy and planning, project and team management and development.

35 years of professional experience out of which almost 30 years in the field of Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering consultancy in a variety of roles, not only in the private sector but also at national research and development centers and at government agencies.

Extensive experience of leading multidisciplinary teams through the project cycle in a variety of coastal projects including master plans, strategic and concept planning, feasibility studies, technical studies and reviews, and detailed design in traditional and design and build contracts.

Successfully managed a wide range of infrastructure projects to client’s satisfaction (both public and private) within time and budget in Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. He also has excellent business development skills and has been a BDM in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region.

Extensive experience in contract procurement and administration from preparation of tender documents through prequalification to contract award and implementation of schemes from site and head office locations.

Recognized professional that regularly participates in technical conferences and meetings, within Spain and internationally, as well as in national and international post-graduate and master’s courses. He served as national delegate at the Committee of Advisory Nature / Marine Science and Technology of the European Union, and has been a project evaluator of R+D+i projects within for the European Union. He is a technical reviewer of professional journals. He was secretary of PIANC PTC-II WG 159 on Sand Bypassing.

Part-time Associate Professor at Madrid Technical University (UPM) since 2003, having educated hundreds of students in harbor and coastal engineering as well as in port operation.

He is an industrial engineer who majored in Chemistry at the Higher School of Engineers of the Universidad de Seville. A specialist in water treatment, he has delivered a number of lectures at Universidad Rovira y Virgili of Tarragona.

He has spent his whole professional career as Director of the Technical Division, Director of Works and Projects in engineering companies in the water treatment industry including AQUALIA, INAGUA, CODESA, TRAGSA or SODEMASA where he participated in the design of many waste water treatment plants for a variety of industrial sectors.

Internationally, he has collaborated with a number of organizations such as the Morocco Ministry of Sanitation (like the WWTP at FEZ, Morocco, through a pre-treatment of waste water and decalcification) and in a variety of Reconstruction and Development projects, including the implementation of the drinking water purification program in Bosnia Herzegovina.

Guillermo is an Architect and he’s got master’s degree in building appraisal, reform and reparations by Seville University (ETSA), which provides him with ability to face projects of different types

With nearly 4 years of work experience, He has developed his professional career in the field of architecture collaborating with different private architecture studios, private engineering consultancies and with public institutions such as Arcos de la Frontera City Council. Always with the greatest commitment.

Before joining Azierta as an Architect collaborator, he worked as an independent architect making reports, certificates and reform projects in existing buildings. Carrying out the writing and directing of complete building projects.

He joined Azierta in 2020 as a collaborator Architect for the Projects Department.
